Berlin, - the formerly divided city - is a dynamic, exciting and constantly changing city with a striking mixture of history and culture. It has become europeans trendsetting city for art, music, architecture and fashion. Due to its relatively cheap living costs young artists and creative persons from all over the world settled down in Berlin. Many are inspired by the dynamic and pluralistic lifestyle of the capital.

Berlin is also a city of social and architectural experimentation. Starting with Prussia's famous master builders, such as Schinkel to the architects who worked here after the Wall came down, their names read like a "who's who" of contemporary architecture.

History has left an indelible mark on Berlin. It is not only the city's memorials which evoke images of bygone days. Berlin's 170 museums as well as streets and squares also tell the tale of its unique, turbulent history from the Prussian days, the cold war to the building and falling of the Berlin Wall.

As Berlin´s mayor said, Berlin is “poor but sexy”. Its cutting edge- a lot of times unexpected - and seemingly opposing ideas can be found there melting together into new trends all with a touch of pioneering spirit.

Picking up the spirit, the congress offers a platform to connect, share and develop ideas, a place where theory meets practise.

We enthusiastically encourage you to contribute your works and your presence and are looking forward to seeing you in Berlin.
